Whitelee 8 June

Allan, Davie C, Davie Mc, Hugh, Malcolm, Robert

We met up at Eaglesham on a very wet morning and quickly decided that Ballageich Hill was a non-starter, so we headed for Whitelee windfarm as an alternative. Deciding to have a coffee in the visitors centre to begin with, it was quarter to eleven before we set out on the Lochgoin circuit, minus rucksacks, in light but fairly persistent rain showers. By about half-way round the rain began to go off and it became relatively warm meaning some were confident enough to get rid of waterproof trousers. Their optimism was short-lived though, as the showers returned and, by the time we got back to the cars, we were well-drookit.

The seven miles had taken two and a quarter hours and whilst Derval Davie decided to go straight home, the rest got changed and had their pieces in the visitors centre. After lunch we gave FRT a miss and headed for home in ever-brightening conditions.

You win some, you lose some!
