31 August 2022 Knock Hill

Kenny R, Gus, Paul, Malcolm, Rex, Alan, Hugh, Dougie.

Just a brief record of a well-documented Ooters' walk.

We met in bright but slightly chilly weather at the Gogo Burn.  We headed along the prom and up Barr Crescent and then followed a tarmac path alongside the Noddle Burn (a new route for your scribe and a pleasant one at that) up to the Brisbane Glen Road. We took the left branch to Brisbane Mains, stopping for coffee on the track above the farm. By now things had warmed up nicely - t-shirt weather.

We were at the top of the Knock before midday - no meandering around the ramparts of the ancient fort for us but straight up the steep incline.  We enjoyed magnificent views of the Clyde and well-beyond and our lunch break was a long and unhurried one, giving us ample time to drink in the scenery.

We descended to the golf course and made our way back to Largs via Routenburn Road. Weatherspoons was avoided and FRT was enjoyed in the beer garden of the Drouthy Neebors.

A perfect day. Distance 10.5 Kms.
