Croy to Culzean and return.

This walk was bedevilled with problems. Weather forecast was wet and very windy, the coastal route to Croy was blocked and various Ooters turned back or gave up on the walk after a few mobile calls were exchanged. Six brave souls set out into the headwind and rain to at least walk to Culzean. As we progressed along the shore the rain lessened and the wind was less of a problem as we approached Culzean. An early lunch was taken in the gunpowder building to shelter from the wind. The weather seemed to have settled a bit so we decided to add a further loop round the Swan Pond before heading along the shore to the cars. We could not head back to Ayr as we exited onto the main road so the logical establishment to spend some of our kitty cash was the Greenside in Maybole. We had a pleasant hour in a warm, dry, convivial environment.
