Arrangements for Wednesday 11th September

Ayrshire Coastal Path: Glenapp to Ballantrae

Weather permitting, we will walk ten miles from Glenapp Kirk to Ballantrae along the Ayrshire Coastal Path. There is a choice of two routes of similar distance: a clifftop route which is described as moderate/difficult and an inland route which is described as easy. Further details of the route can be found on the website of the Ayrshire Coastal Path:

Meet in Ballantrae at 10:30am in time for the service 358 bus which leaves from the Main Street at 10:57. Free car parking at the Foreland Car Park next to the public toilets.  Travel time from Ballantrae to the starting point at Glenapp is around 15 minutes.

In the event of a poor weather forecast, an alternative could be to meet at Lodge Road car park Turnberry at 09:45am. This car park is situated where the A719 meets the A77. We can decide whether to continue to Ballantrae or have a more sheltered walk around Culzean Country Park from Maidens.
